FIRE AT THE "KARATURUN EAST" OIL FIELD IN MANGYSTAU REGION HAS BEEN EXTINGUISHED

On December 25, 2023, at the "Karaturun East" oil field operated by "Buzachi Oil" LLP, a planned wellbore connection was performed, connecting the borehole of well 303-ST with the relief wellbore 303. Following the wellbore connection, for the purpose of shutting down the active gas zone, drilling mud was injected into the relief wellbore of well 303, resulting in the complete cessation of gas release and combustion. Additionally, the discharge (spillage) of water from the well also ceased.

Planned and final measures for accident elimination, including well cementing and wellhead sealing, are scheduled to take place. The operations are planned to be completed in the shortest possible timeframe.
